Ignition power management allows a vehicle PC to delay shutdown after the vehicle ignition is turned off, giving the OS time to write pending data and shut down gracefully rather than losing data on sudden power removal. It also manages wake-on-ignition so the PC boots automatically when the vehicle starts. This prevents filesystem corruption that occurs when power is abruptly cut.
