Avalue Technology has expanded its Edge HPC portfolio with two new high-density computing solutions: the HPS-GNRU1A 1U server system and the HPM-GNRUP industrial server board. Both are built on the latest Intel® Xeon® 6 platform with PCIe Gen5 and high-density NVMe storage, bringing data-centre-class performance into space-constrained, on-site environments.

Why Edge HPC?

As AI and data-intensive workloads grow, high-performance computing is moving beyond centralised data centres to the edge, where latency, footprint and real-time throughput matter most. Avalue positions this launch squarely at on-site computing, citing four representative workloads:

  • Smart manufacturing, AOI (automated optical inspection) needs real-time image processing to lift yield and process stability.
  • Healthcare, image-guided therapy depends on precise, low-latency image analysis.
  • Smart city, applications such as airport security screening must process high-frequency imaging data rapidly.
  • Life sciences, next-generation sequencing (NGS) requires intensive compute for large-scale data analysis.

The shared challenges, massive throughput, real-time processing and deployment in tight spaces, are exactly what this dual launch targets.

HPS-GNRU1A: 1U Edge HPC server

The HPS-GNRU1A packs high-performance compute, dense storage and flexible GPU expansion into a compact 1U rackmount chassis:

  • Single Intel® Xeon® 6 processor, supporting up to 350W TDP
  • PCIe Gen5 architecture with dual 10GbE LAN for high-speed, low-latency data transfer
  • GPU flexibility: one double-wide FHFL GPU, or two single-wide FHFL GPUs plus one HHHL add-on card, without sacrificing storage bays or connectivity
  • Up to ten hot-swappable E1.S NVMe drives, or four U.2 NVMe drives, for high-frequency write performance
  • IPMI 2.0 remote management

HPM-GNRUP: the server board behind it

The HPM-GNRUP is the industrial-grade server board at the core of the platform, built on Intel® Xeon® 6 processors (6500P / 6700P / 6700E):

  • DDR5 high-bandwidth memory and PCIe Gen5 for high scalability and throughput
  • IPMI 2.0 remote management and multiple high-speed I/O interfaces
  • Tool-less maintenance design to simplify deployment and servicing

Together, the HPS-GNRU1A and HPM-GNRUP suit data-intensive workloads such as AI inference, AOI visual inspection, medical imaging, smart manufacturing and broader Edge HPC environments.
