When Small HMIs Are Not Enough

A 7" or 10" HMI is ideal for a single-machine operator interface. But when your process has dozens of control loops, multiple feed streams, or a complex piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), operators need a larger screen to see the full picture at a glance, without scrolling between multiple screens. The Cermate XL series addresses this with 15", 17", 19", and 21.5" display options.

The Cermate XL series comprises large-format industrial HMI panels (15-inch and above, up to 21.5-inch) designed for process supervision stations, multi-machine overview displays, control room operator interfaces, and plant-level visualisation where a compact 7-inch or 10-inch HMI provides insufficient screen real estate.

The Cermate XL series includes panels up to 21.5 inches, the largest touchscreen HMI panels in the Cermate range. At 21.5 inches, operators can display comprehensive process overviews, multi-zone alarm dashboards, and large trend charts without requiring separate PC-based SCADA hardware.

Cermate XL series supports the same 300+ PLC driver library as all Cermate HMIs, connecting to Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, and all Modbus RTU/TCP devices. The large screen size does not restrict PLC compatibility; all XL panels use EasyBuilder Pro for programming.

For single-facility or single-process visualisation, a Cermate XL panel can replace a SCADA workstation, it displays live PLC data, trend history, alarm logging, and recipe management without a separate PC. For multi-site or advanced reporting requirements, a SCADA system on an industrial Panel PC remains necessary. XL panels are best positioned as plant-section supervisory displays rather than full SCADA replacements.
