An industrial 3.5" SBC built for the edge

Avalue Technology has launched the ECM-ASL3, a 3.5-inch industrial single-board computer powered by Intel Alder Lake-N and Amston Lake processors. It is designed to deliver high performance, low power consumption and long-term availability as a reliable, scalable embedded platform for edge AI, smart manufacturing, automation, automotive equipment and medical monitoring.

Industrial-grade reliability

The ECM-ASL3 is built to industrial-grade standards: an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 80°C and a wide voltage input of 9-36VDC let it run in diverse, demanding environments. It stays stable under high-load, high-vibration conditions such as outdoor equipment, vehicle-mounted applications and manufacturing sites. For edge security and durability it integrates a TPM 2.0 module and uses an onboard CPU design for improved shock resistance, with flexible visual output via HDMI, DP and LVDS/eDP.

Cross-generation flexibility and triple expansion

A key advantage is cross-generation processor support — compatibility across Intel Alder Lake-N, Amston Lake and even Twin Lake platforms — so product lines can be upgraded with minimal redesign. The board uses a triple-design expansion scheme: three M.2 slots (B Key, E Key, M Key), three Ethernet interfaces (1 x 2.5GbE, 2 x 1GbE) and three display outputs (HDMI, DP, LVDS/eDP), covering cameras, sensors, AI acceleration modules and 5G/LTE communication. Its low-power, high-stability design carries a seven-year lifecycle, and Avalue's integrated BIOS, firmware, customised I/O and thermal-design services provide a one-stop path to deployment.
